New York City Girl

New York city girl

NYC, how I love you so… Photo Apr 23, 7 08 26 PMWe had so much fun in New York City this past weekend. This trip was the first time I walked the Brooklyn Bridge and it was amazing – I mean look at that view! I was totally having Kate & Leopold flashbacks to the scene where she crosses the bridge. Some of the food highlights:

  • I finally tried the famous Levain Bakery and the cookies definitely lived up to the hype – they were gooey and delicious.
  • We also had to go to Mikey Likes It ice cream shop and try the Parliamint Funkadelic flavor (mint ice cream with crushed Oreos). We got it in a milkshake and it was super good!
  • We got pizza from Prince St. Pizza and it was super good, probably one of the best pizza slices I’ve ever had – and I’ve had a lot of pizza in my lifetime!
  • Of course we had to stop by my all time favorite Magnolia Bakery and get the banana pudding (my favorite) and obviously it was delicious.

As you can see we tried a ton of new (to us) food spots! We love finding new good eats so let me know if you have any recommendations for places we should try next time we are in NYC in the comments below!

That’s My Best Friend

We all know long distance is hard—and I’m not talking about dating. This is serious long distance: a long distance best friend.

From living down the street from each other to living on opposite coasts, my bestie and I have been inseparable since grade school. When we moved away for college we knew distance had nothing on us… Here are a few things I’ve learned about having a best friend 2,685 miles away:

  1. Your bond grows stronger being apart
  2. You’re constantly texting, snapchatting or facetiming to stay in touch
  3. They give you a fresh new perspective on things
  4. It’s easier to be honest with them
  5. You spend hours reminiscing and laughing about the past
  6. Reunions are a grand affair
  7. Long-distance best friends are friends for life

Photo Mar 11, 12 03 36 PMFun fact: my long-distance BFF is also a blogger! Check out her awesome fashion,  lifestyle, and travel blog here: It’s A Wanderful World {keep scrolling for outfit details}Photo Mar 11, 12 06 52 PMShop our outfits:

Tassel Earrings Trend

I am so into the latest trend: TASSELS! Here are some of my favorite tassel earrings… P.S. now it’s even easier to shop my posts – just click on the photos! Photo Mar 16Iris Tassel Earrings – $59.00 These blue color block tassels are TO DIE FOR. They are not only pretty as tassels but can also be worn as awesome studs! I love how Stella & Dot incorporates so many versatile pieces into their collections – most of their jewelry can be worn at least two ways.

Screen Shot 2017-04-11 at 4.24.17 PM                                                   Gabriela Fringe Drops – $38.00 These pink fringe earrings are so cute and girly. They’re perfect for summer!

Screen Shot 2017-04-11 at 4.03.44 PM                                        Cool Mint Beaded Tassel – $65.00 First of all, the color of these is AMAZING. Secondly, the detail on these tassel earrings from J.Crew is incredible. I love turquoise and pairing it with a coral/red color or white – I can see myself getting so much use out of these this season. These are a must have!

Screen Shot 2017-04-11 at 4.06.40 PM                                                Oscar de la Renta Long Tassel Drop Earrings – $395.00 Ah Oscar de la Renta, how you get me. These designer tassels are so elegant and jaw-dropping. They are a serious show stopper and perfect for a fancy black tie event or a night on the town!

Photo Apr 11Gita Tassel Earrings – $39.00 These are my favorite white tassel earrings available right now for a few reasons: The marble on the top is super on trend, they have a vintage look to them which I love, and they go with everything! Plus, they are super reasonably priced.

Screen Shot 2017-04-11 at 4.20.03 PM                                                             Sweet Jasmine Color  $65.00 The color on these earrings are probably the colors I wear most often, so these are perfect to complement my wardrobe. Nonetheless, even if these aren’t the most common colors in your closet, these tassels will be an unforgettable statement piece.

I had so much fun exploring Charlottesville and University of Virginia! We meandered along the Historic Downtown Mall and I shopped around in a few boutiques. We grabbed some grub at the famous Jack Brown’s Beer and Burger Joint saw the Paramount theater along the way. UVA’s campus is not only historic but it’s absolutely beautiful! I especially loved the rotunda on campus designed by Thomas Jefferson. Below are some of the pictures I snapped along the way…

I had so much fun exploring Annapolis also known as Naptown by the locals. I walked down Main Street, had a lobster roll at Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls, sat on the City Dock watching the sailboats, and toured the US Naval Academy! It was only an hour outside of Washington, D.C. so it was great for a day-trip. The weather was mid 70’s and sunny – so pretty much perfect. Check out some pictures from the trip below…
